We had initially gone with our original HVAC contractor who had installed the system 9 years prior.  A couple of weeks ago, they came out and fixed an AC issue and supposedly did their maintenance service on our furnace.  They installed a new capacitor on the AC but said the burned out capacitor had created some other issues and the AC would not work for long.  They wanted to sell us a whole new unit.

A week later, the gas furnace wouldn’t kick on.  We called out Gem Heating and they came out within 24 hours.  They said our AC was fine and no damage was done by the burned out capacitor.

They also fixed the furnace by blowing it out with a compressor.  They said that should have been done as part of the routine maintenance for which we paid our prior contractor.

We since learned that our prior contractor had been bought by a private equity firm.  We were very happy with their installation 9 years ago, but not so much this time around.

10/10! Gem is a local HVAC company with honest business practices. Gem Heating stood out from the start. I talked to the owner, James, to schedule a diagnostic visit for our aging A/C that was acting up. He came the same day, and was friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. I didn't expect him to be willing to work with our old A/C unit, but he gave us multiple solutions that covered a range of costs. James did a great job educating my husband about our system, and explaining what was going on and how each solution would work. Once we made our decision, he had our A/C up and running within an hour.

James came out very quickly for an urgent AC matter in hot summer weather. We so appreciate his professionalism and conversation about our system. He was willing to talk us through his estimate and hear our thoughts and concerns. He ended up going above and beyond. We highly recommend Gem Heating! James did a great job.  He was out at our house within 2 hours of my calling in for services.  Not ont did he fully explain what was wrong with our unit but showed me all the system test results. We recently had an issue with our A/C Cooling Properly.  I contacted Gem State Heating and Air Conditioning to schedule an appointment.  James visited our residence and immedietely identified the issue that was causing our A/C unit to improperly cool down. James came and diagnosed our water heater issue and had us fixed up in a day. Customer service and communication was above and beyond. Pricing was fair but the personal small business touch was worth every penny. He even painted and primed the wall behind the water heater which wasn’t even in the original bid.

These guys are personable and humble. They do exactly what they say they will do, and will not screw you over like the other HVAC companies in the valley. Other companies just want to sell you new units even though all you might need are repairs. Not this team. This team will take care of you and I trust them wholeheartedly. My mini split decided it wasn’t going to blow anymore cold air due to a leak. Called Gem and they came out the same day to get me hooked up.

He quickly found the issue and took care of it.

Now it’s blowing nice and cold.
